WELCOME TO THE ESKASONI FISH & WILDLIFE COMMISSION
Eskasoni Fish and Wildlife Commission (EFWC) works to protect and enhance culturally significant species and habitats in and around Eskasoni First Nation and the Bras d’Or Lakes for future generations. EFWC works through collaboration and partnerships using a Two-Eyed Seeing Approach.
EFWC is committed to ensuring that there is a strong and healthy food, social and ceremonial fishery (FSC) for the members of the Eskasoni First Nation for at least seven generations. This includes ensuring that the habitat in which these species live is protected and preserved as well.
There are several key values that EFWC relies on to guide its operations. These core values include integrity, respect, diversity, accountability, partnership, teamwork, honesty, reciprocity, rights and responsibility, and safety.
